Sandwell College

This is the ‘Central Campus’ of Sandwell College, a newly built 7 story development located in West Bromwich, West Midlands.

I was involved with the 3D concept imagery of this one a few years ago, and now that the building is complete and handed over, I headed over for some photography.

The weather did it’s best to put a stop to this shoot. After days of lovely blue sky’s and sunshine, things changed! High winds, rain showers and even hailstone followed as the temperature plummeted to
5°C– this is May 2013! But with everything in place, the show had to go on!

On arrival I was greeted with a hefty rain shower, so I moved swiftly on to the interior photography. As you will see below a building of this size and nature has a diverse range of specialist teaching areas, from the working Aircraft cabin, Wood working workshop, Plastering, Plumbing, Fashion, Photography and Motorsport.

I worked to a brief from the Project Architect to ensure all the areas were covered. On completion of the internal work the night was drawing in quickly, time for some external night shots.

Daylight External façade photography was undertaken the following morning during a brief dry spell, before I headed back to the office for post production editing work with Adobe Photoshop.
